Interlocking Squares
Learn basic traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching techniques with this combination of traditional patterns. on this 18" square indigo cotton/linen fabric. The design can be made into a pillow, chair cushion or table runner. (1 Day)

Sashiko Sampler
This two-sided tote bag is designed with two panels — one with traditional motifs, the other with contemporary designs. Special techniques include pattern transfer, planning the "travel route", adding beads for embellishment, and a needle turning applique. (2 Days)

Flower Coasters
These four stylized flwoers introduce you to the basic techniques of traditional Sashiko embroidery:
- starting and stopping threads
- calculating stitch length
- rounding corners
- meeting at intersections
The design can be cut into four separate 4" coasters, or left uncut as an 8" square quilt block. (2 Hours)
