Explore how to achieve the illusion of depth in stitching - how to make something appear to be close, or further away. Many colorful stitched examples illustrate how to contrast colors, thread texture and stitch sizes to create this illusion. 

Designing a Threadscape 

Using illustrations of the many thread-scapes she teaches, Lois explains the steps for transforming a favorite landscape photograph into needle art.

Introduction to Color & Design in Needlework

This program is designed to explain the basic concepts of color and design and show how these concepts are applied in contemporary needlework. Many illustrations in the context of needlework are complimented with examples from everyday life.

Textiles of Northern Thailand & Laos

Join me on an arm chair journey to the Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand and Laos focusing on their colorful traditional embroidery and textiles. We view some of the local sightseeing attractions and take special visits to several dying and weaving cooperatives, handmade paper businesses and textile markets.
